Going Out to New Friends

I have danced so many dances

In my day

Apparently not the tango

But you tangle

The way my thoughts are put together

You're forever

Giggling in my head.

Let it be said

That I never had a friend like you

You do things

Upside down and backwards

You stack words

And I am lost for their intentions.

You're an extension

Of the humor

That I try

To live by

Die by

And I'm not sure why

But I feel calm

In this song

That we're singing.

Even though the ringing

Is loud

It doesn't fade out.

And I'm proud

You're my friend

I want to see you again

And again

And when

I do

I hope you

Will feel I'm for real

And maybe steal

A moment or two.
