Your Beauty and Sweetness

Your Beauty and Sweetness

I can taste,

Just by being in your vicinity.

It haunts me.

Almost, taunts me.

Until I can’t see.

I need the freedom

I used to taste.

I’m insatiable

In an immeasurable way.

Today

I actually saw a mirror.

I mean, I was nearer

Than I have ever been.

Then

The flaws,

Like claws,

Ripped through my thoughts

And it’s hard to smile

Again.

But Your Beauty and Sweetness

It’s the freakness

In this occurrence.

It lacks a deterrent.

It keeps coming back to see this.

You.

Who knew?

With all the miles between us.

With all the smiles that see us.

That we’d focus so clearly.

Or merely

That we would even speak.

Oh, I’m so weak

When you’re here.

But

I stand

As tall as I can.

I plug the leaks

I am a man.

Who has you.

I do what I do

So, I…and you

Can see this.

Your Beauty and Sweetness.
