Something in the Way You Cry

Something in the way you cry

Makes me want to cry too.

You cry like everyone else:

But there’s something different about you.

Each tear is like rain to me.

Each drop gets me more and more depressed.

I’m stuck in the river below me.

Happiness, sun, and light suppressed.

Please stop crying

I’m drowning out here.

One day you laugh,

Next day you tear.

Over what?!

What are you crying about?!

I can’t come in.

Yet, you won’t let me out.

I get trapped.

Trapped inside your lowered state.

You weep for me

But I can’t relate.

Well, if you’ll excuse me, please.

I really must smile.

But I’m sure I’ll be back

In a little while.
